Ladies Bible Class

One of the highlights of my week is when I join my church sisters for class, I love it!

Tuesdays mornings at 10am, women come to read ands study God's word.  Currently we are studying
the book "The Story: The Bible as One Continuing Story of God and His People"; we search for the Scriptures in reference to that class, and we chew on those, bring examples, and discuss the question that might arise in regards to it. It is exciting to hear the things that come to the table! The class usually is lead by an assigned class member, and the group usually has ten to twelve sisters, in between the ages of 25-80yrs old; we have single and married women, the majority from our church but we do have some that come only to the class but attend other churches.  Some of these women are college students, other carrier women, some are mothers and grandmothers, and at time even pastoral staff join us in the discussion. At the end we close in prayer for the discussion we have had and for the prayer request brought in. Here relationships are built, and mentoring is one at hand, we learn from each other, and whatever is unknown we make it a point to research about it to be discuss in next class.  If you have room in your calendar to join this study group I highly recommend it, especially if you want to fellowship among women of God, and your church has nothing appointed for Tuesday morning.

This week's rush included "school shopping", the tax free weekend, worked good in spite of the busyness in the stores, almost every store in the mall was packed jam with great sales, it looked like "Black Friday".... crazy!!! I probably would it enjoyed more if I would have selected better shoes for running the mall as I shopped... my feet hurt!

One of the things I want to share with you is the importance of praying as you go shopping.  You might say, "what, praying?" Yes, praying.  First of all, when you go shopping, you will find people that you might have not been looking for but GOD has divine appointments set for us wherever we go, so you might as well, realize now that is the reason, why you saw that woman that you hadn't seen in ages, of that family you thought had moved out of town.... Therefore, its important you pray:
  1. for your hands for The Lord to bless those your hands get in contact with as you shake their hands; and
  2. for your mouth and the conversations that will be developing in this "shopping school trip"
  3. also for your eyes and ears, for there will be things that you and your family will see and hear and some of those most definitely can become part of your prayer list, and last but not least,
  4. your money and the opportunity to shop; because you do not want to pass a great opportunity in something you really need, but at the same time you do not want just shop if is not a need.
The Lord who created all, AND owns it all, HE is the One who have given us the opportunity to earn that money that we're about to spend as we go shopping, therefore it is a wise thing to ask HIM to give us wisdom as we shop, and good offers, that way we do not spend the money foolishly.  I personally ask HIM to lead me to the places where I need to go, and to help me avoid those places I do not need to see or visit.  Many times I find myself in the stores that send me great discounts and offer either online or thru the mail, those save me big bucks! And my husband loves it!!! (Not going shopping but the fact that I'm saving "him" some money) Because although God's the ultimate provider, is my husband paycheck that I'm spending. See, this is another win-win situation.
Thank YOU, JESUS!!!

At then end of all these details, I'm sure you'll be thinking that this back to school shopping trip has been more like a "mission's trip"; and in reality, you are right, IT IS a Mission's trip! To GOD be the glory! So next time you go, any kind of shopping, pray before you go, and do not be surprise, as The LORD, multiplies your opportunities as well as your money!  Hey, its a hard job, and someone has to go do it, might as well be us that pray for God's intervention, and see the results immediately!!! Therefore, enjoy it for the glory of God, and remember afterwards, to share with the world, what The Lord had done for you!

Until next week....

May the Lord open your eyes for you to see HIS greatness, grace, mercy and compassionate love all around you this week in JESUS name, I pray, AMEN!!!
