Teaching our youngones about Supporting Christian Values

This was a good night for a Church service at home, and what a great thing THE LORD brought for me to teach my teenagers! It is something that we cannot leave up to our church leaders to teach it, because it simply might not be feasible for them as a church, but praise God, as individuals we can teach them at home. Teach them to sort from the things they ought to watch and not for their own good, is something that the earlier in life they learn the better for their lives it will be.

There are TV and radio shows that bring honor to God openly and their focus is in leading others to Christ; most of these because maybe have a name that glorifies God, and for this, are easy to find. Others, maybe that show the you see while doing the dishes, or the laundry, perhaps that show you hear on your way to work, or what you're allowing your kids to watch before/after dinner, or as a family, maybe these others are not Christian TV.

Because of the mass variety of choice, to narrow down the list, from an article I read in the Christian News Magazine, I've outline three simple guideline that will help you determine if that show you're listening or watching is a good/sound food to feed your eyes and ears, or not too.  Because as Children of God, most of us, really want to do right, but sometimes, we're not lead on what in the TV or in the radio is good or not; truly in the cases were things have become an obsession like what happened with the last Pokémon game, that pretended to be a good "exercise" tool, we MIGHT hear something, but its not guaranteed.  This is why I decided to share this with you, my friends, because The Lord showed me, that is up to me to LIVE and promote sound Christian discipline, after I've been taught about it. I know there are churches out there that will not touch "simple" subjects as beware of what we see and hear, and allow your children to.  At the end I've included the web link to the magazine in case you want to read the article.  The Scriptures were found in my topical search for values in The Bible.

Back in 2008, I never had given ear to boycott anything/anyone until my, then eleven years old son, wrote a letter to Pepsi-Cola, expressing his disgust to their support to the Human Rights Campaign.
The article said that the American Family Association initiated in 2008 a boycott of PepsiCo because the company had made a $500,000 contribution to the Human Rights Campaign (possibly the nation's most influential radical pro-homosexual activist group).  It also mentions that the boycott ended in February 2010 as Pepsi changed its practices.

I didn't know how to react, what to do with that letter my son wrote, and to tell you the truth I don't even remember if the youth group sent a copy of every students letter home for us to keep, or how the story ended. But now, almost ten years later, this article came to my hands, and it made me glad to see that my son's concern then, were heard and produced the God-given results. To God be the glory for the lesson I've been taught today.  This is something that encouraged me to share it with the world, and help encourage others, to stand up for our Biblical Values.

It is important for us to realize if we press on to support a cause for Christ, HE IS FOR US, and we will be heard. Be courageous, and stand up high for our BIBLICAL VALUES in everything we do for the sake of our children's future if the Lord tarries, and of course for the cause of Christ, and the glory of God.

The 3 simple guidelines to determine the value of a show, is NOT good:
  1. IF it sells, deals or promotes Pornography.
  2. IF is a network that belittle, denigrate, undervalue, underrate, play down, ridicule, mock, scorn, run down, defame, discredit, our Christian faith in GOD The Father, GOD The Son - JESUS, GOD The HOLY SPIRIT.
  3. IF the company who supports it celebrates and supports a life-threatening and aberrant lifestyle.
I agree with AFA that "supporting activities like those we are boycotting pose a grave threat to our survival as a nation and as a moral and civilized people." We are jeopardizing our children's future if we do not teach them about supporting Christian values.

To make this personal, I’m NOT judging other persons or their inherent value in God's eyes; I’m simply holding a Biblical spotlight on poor corporate decisions that support an agenda bent on destroying the BIBLICAL FOUNDATION upon which our nation WAS BUILT.  Teaching the generations that are coming up, to follow and support Biblical Values in all realms of life its a MUST!!!

The article ends encouraging us, "God's people for we have a choice as well—give God's money to those who support immoral lifestyles and unbiblical values, or spend it elsewhere. A boycott is nothing more, nothing less, than judicious stewardship of the resources GOD has PLACED IN OUR CARE."
Here are some of the many Scriptures that encourage us to stick to our Biblical Values.  Remember that GOD is the same, and in spite of the time, HE IS THE SAME, YESTERDAY, TODAY and FOREVER! (Hebrews 13:8) By the way that is the same book and chapter among others that talks about Moral Directions.

I pray The Lord shows you the importance of supporting Biblical Values in everything we do; and I pray you get to share this with those HE will place in your heart. For the glory of God, I pray this in JESUS name, AMEN!!!

“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money."
Better is a poor person who walks in his integrity than one who is crooked in speech and is a fool.
And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.
In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. ...
“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.
Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are his delight.
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.
“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming. In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices ...
In whose eyes a vile person is despised, but who honors those who fear the Lord; who swears to his own hurt and does not change;
You shall not pervert justice. You shall not show partiality, and you shall not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous. Justice, and only justice, you shall follow, that you may live and inherit the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people (places/things/activities). ...
If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. SET YOUR MINDS ON THINGS THAT ARE ABOVE, not on things that are on earth. Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. ...
Of David. Fret not yourself because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers! For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. COMMIT YOUR WAY TO THE LORD; TRUST IN HIM, AND HE WILL ACT. ...
